sweet tat!

i have wanted a tattoo since before i can remember. when i was 17 i went to a tattoo shop to price what i wanted at the time, which was the closing line from my favorite poem on my forearm. THANK GOD my mom told me if i got a tattoo she would put me up for auction on the black market. i would have regretted that tattoo for the rest of my life, especially since i think poetry is gay. but now i know exactly what i want. i think. and it is just as pretentious as my last idea. i am not catholic but i am obsessed with catholicism. like, i used to want to be a nun. i have always thought images if sacred/flaming hearts were really cute. i really like the way prison tattoos look, and for the longest time have just wanted a simple two line cross on my arm. i also really like vivienne westwood and her 'logo'. finally, what inspired all of this were the montague and capulet family crests from the 1997 baz luhrman film. SO what i have settled on is a sacred heart with the heart replaced with a globe combined with the capulet family crest, all drawn in the style of a fast unsterilzed prison tattoo on the back of my arm above my elbow.

Crown found after, like, 300 years

///In 1685, Vittoria della Rovere (portrait on the right), the Grand Duchess of Tuscany and the wife of Grand Duke Ferdinando II commissioned a gem-studded gold crown that she donated to the Carmelite nuns of Borgo Pinti in Florence as a symbol of her devotion to a new canonized saint, Maria Maddalena dè Pazzi, famous for her spiritual ecstasies.

That crown, embellished with 412 diamonds, 114 rubies, and 80 emeralds, was thought to have been lost–hidden away during the Napoleonic raids of the early 19th century–but it has been recently rediscovered in a convent in Florence, according to Piero Pacini, a scholar of Santa Maria Maddalena dè Pazzi, who has published photographs and an article about the crown in Medicea. Rivista interdisciplinare di studi medicei, an academic journal devoted to the study of the Medici family.

The crown for the saint was made by Giovanni Comparini and Giuseppe Vanni–the two goldsmiths that most often had the privilege of serving the Medici family in the 17th century–and cost 1800 scudi. It was begun in the summer of 1684, when Vittoria della Rovere, along with her goldsmiths, paid an unexpected visit to the Carmelite convent at Borgo Pinti and ordered the nuns to show her all the jewels that “belonged” to the saint. The Grand Duchess told the nuns that she intended to use the jewels to have a crown made for the saint and the project was completed in 10 months. For about two centuries after the crown was finished, it displayed to the saint’s faithful devotees on occasions when the saint’s incorruptible body was exposed and venerated.\\\

Easter!

hihihi!!

well it's that time of the year again when my mom is makin enough Manicotti to feed all of Haiti and The Lord of The Rings collector's edition is blasting non-stop for 24 hours, which can only mean one thing. IT'S EASTER!!!!!!!!

last night i rang in the new year with this guy i'm trying to do it with, in some girl's father's house, getting high while my friend travis was playing with her cat. that sounds sexual, but it's really not. believe me. i mean i guess it was a good way to celebrate St. Easter's birthday.

In honor of UK losing their best player EVER, Daniel Orton, who averaged 1 point per game after mastering how to give the opposing team free points via goaltending, i painted my nails! I have only had coffee and energy drinks today, so i'm waiting to finish cause i kinda got the shakes. but here's a free preview.
it's a cross.

sorry it's been so long. i've been in jail. and by jail i mean sitting here at my desk letting all of this stuff accumulate:
here we have energy drinks, movies, fingernail polish, coffee, some kind of animal print plastic glass, an impressive amount of smoked cigarettes, and UDF matches. AKA one awesome saturday night.
