yayy!!! Obama Mama is fur free!!! this is really great news after hearing alligations that some major designers have created alligator farms for the sole purpose of breeding and raising the babies to just kill them, sometimes 4 animals at a time, just to craft a weekend bag for a 'celebrity'. i dont't care if the animals are raised in the best conditions and treated 'better' than their wild kin, it's not their natural habitat, and breeding an animal with intentions of killing it for the purpose of fashion IS wrong, and the wrong doers should know that karma is real. throw any rebuttal at me, i will win. i don't care, i will win.
with this being said, i do not expect people to stop wearing leather or completely move to vegan clothes. i haven't, it's too expensive. BUT if celebrities and public figures do, then houses and designers who feed the common people as well will sink their teeth into the trend and start offering affordable clothes hat are hate free. and buy vintage!!! yeah, you are still buying animal products, but it's so far removed that in my opinion it almost doesn't count, and this way you aren't supporting corrupt animal violence. plus many times vintage leather/fur is cheaper. the animals are already dead, so why not honor them and give them a home. this sounds creepy and kinda Norman Bates-esque... but so is an alligator killing factory.
